This just in (yesterday): President Obama announces his personal support for The Morning After.

The following artists are now married to each other by default.

Mickey Avalon (@mickeyave) @ Middle East Downstairs: Sure, we might have been a little harsh towards this walking Frankenstein monster patched together from rejected Ed Hardy designs and powered by the worst, most contrived sense of “mean streets martyrdom,” but that doesn’t mean we can’t tell you that his show last night at the Middle East was electrifying (in the modern Prometheus sense). ‘Course, it also doesn’t mean we can tell you that. It’s a Schrodinger’s Cat kind of deal.

And by that we mean that no one can tell if Mickey Avalon is, medically, alive anymore.

King Orchid (@kingorchid) @ Great Scott: Listen, we can understand it if you didn’t make it out to Allston last night to catch these electro-blues masters (dare we say, kings?) in all their monarchical glory. And we’re definitely not just saying that so you don’t realize how much of a lame-butt-dumb-face you are for missing them. Definitely. But… if you were a total lame-butt-dumb-face-loser-pants-butt, you could lessen your hyphenated awfulness by checking out the super-secret demo recording posted below.

Watch it, and settle for being a mere lame-butt-dumb-butt-stupid…uh… Did we already say “butt”?

Alison Keslow @ Church:This Berklee grad, bass virtuoso and jazz improvisonary was all up in Church last night, doing all the things that three-part intro we gave her would suggest. So… a lot of really great musical things, then. Like awesome-frosted awesome cake.

Hell, she might have juggled and cured some leprosy with a laying-on of jazz hands for all we know.

(Note: we don’t know anything.)

Make it New Crew @ Phoenix Landing: If you were looking for some faster beats to get your alcohol blood pumping, the Make it New Techno crew made history with the Re:Set gang last night, swapping houses as if it were Romeo and Juliet: How it Should’ve Happened. As usual, Baltimoroder, Die Young, and David Day had the place filled to the brim with dancing people who love and preach techno music. Unfortunately, Nellie finally finished all of her classes yesterday, and what resulted was this hangover and inability to think. And to all of your chagrin, it is not over yet! Tonight at Middlesex Lounge the Re:Set residents, D-Lux, RPBD, and Mark Ingram are going to Make it Set… say what?

I also consider Jamie Michalski the equivalent to a “fuck you” to Billy Joel on his birthday.

J-Hilla (@DJJHILLA), Fens (@fffens), REWROTE (@REWROTE), C.Z. @ Naga: Bringing it back to the bass-ics as usual, Central Sq. was abuzz last night with lots of dance-worthy local talents. Right down the street from Phoenix Landing, local record labels M|O|D and Banana Peel held a killer showcase. Fens and J-Hilla took on REWROTE and C.Z. It was great music to lean back and chill out-dance to, the guys mixed in exotic rhythms that went great with the fact that J-Hilla had an exam this morning at 9am (had to throw that in there!) You like-a da bass? Get mmmmovin‘.
